FreeUpper St. Clair families are being treated to a free family concert by the Musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The concert begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Upper St. Clair High School theatre.
Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair and the Musicians of the PSO, the event will feature Peter and the Wolf as well as Pittsburgh favorite Music Can Make Your Life Complete. In addition to symphony musicians, Tania Grubbs will perform as vocalist and narrator. Daniel Nesta Curtis will be conducting.
“The Community Foundation was approached by the Musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for help with providing a venue for a free children’s concert,” Angela Petersen, executive director, said. “The event is coming up quickly and we would love for everyone to know so that they could attend this world class performance, close to home, and free!”
The Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair was founded in 1993 by residents concerned about the community’s future. The organization’s goal is to improve the quality of life in Upper St. Clair by providing financial support for special programs and projects that are not funded by tax dollars. These projects fall into five focus areas: education and lifelong learning; fine and performing arts; recreation and leisure; science; and technology.
